Your Body Is Your House

~Exploring the use of blocks to support me in opening the windows of my lungs and finding more spaciousness in my house~

Recently a yoga teacher training in Katonah Yoga with Abbie Galvin turned my yoga head upside down. Katonah yoga twists, bends, binds, connects and opens a teacher to new perspectives on familiar poses.

As I explore the Katonah realm in my practise usually first thing in the morning there is a feeling of getting my house ready for the day. One morning this poem presented itself post practise. Where we bring our attention, we bring our breath and where the breath goes, the imagination follows.

Today first thing,

I got the fire

Burning.

I went to the

Basement of me.

Boiler turned high,

Heating every floor

Of this house.

Now as I sit,

From hips to toes,

Plugged

In to this earth.

My lungs are my

Windows,

Open, fresh air,

Moves to my head.

Where thoughts brew like

Coffee,

For the day that’s

Ahead.

My eye lids down,

My eyes

Explore their home.

You house secrets?

Don’t have

Any.

House your story

Own it.

Emotions hid?

Share them.

Before

They  clutter up

Your space.

We must live in

Every

Corner.

Care for,

Air well,

Love this

House.
